Handistep History
Since the introduction of Handistep during 2001 this unique product has proved to be the most innovative step system available to both van fleet operators and owner operators of LightCommercial Vehicles.
The Handistep range has continued to grow and has addressed many specialist applications including bespoke systems for specialist refrigerated trailers and box bodied vehicles which needed fold away steps.
Major Fleets now specify this unique product knowing the system has been manufactured under stringent ISO 9001 (2008) standards and offers 1000 hours salt spray suppression being twice the industry standard. During endurance testing the steps were also subjected to low speed rear impact tests which actually protected rear panel work of the van as the step has been designed to absorb low speed rear impact.
With ever increasing legislation surrounding "Duty of Care", Handistep now offers even greater safety with the introduction of OEM / EMC approved specially designed reverse sensors which are bespoke to this unique step system. These can be either retrofitted into existing steps or indeed can be ordered at the same time as the step thus saving valuable workshop labour installation time.
Using reverse sensors gives drivers peace of mind with an audible warning of objects out of sight of the rear view mirrors whilst reversing offering additional awareness and safety to both the Public and to the driver. Apart from the standard audible warning supplied with the reverse sensor kit; Handistep can offer an optional dashboard mounted digital read out display which pin points the area where the the offending object is situated. Many fleets now specify Handistep with reverse sensors as a standard.
The features and benefits of Handistep coupled with OEM approvals and meeting the stringent rules surrounding TUV & ELVD compliance makes Handistep the one to specify when ordering your new vehicle.
Handistep now features as standard High Visual Red Reflective tape
Handistep will be releasing even more innovative step designs during 2010 and will again exhibit the range of innovative Handistep designs at the Commercial Operators Show 2010 13th - 15th April on Stand 5440 in Hall 5
